What about your crowning glory?
The HOLIDAY HAIR guide is here!
We can tell you everything you need to know about caring for your hair during your much-needed sun holiday.
Dehydrated, frizzy and unruly hair is the last thing you want to have to worry about when relaxing by the pool or snorkelling at your favourite beach destination. And heat, sun or chlorine really are not your hair's best friend - believe us!
Fight the frizz and dried out hair by packing deep conditioning shampoo, conditioner and a multi-purpose styling product into that over-packed suitcase.
The beauty bloggers' sun-protection favourite, Kerastase Soleil range -is one of our favourites too. This range offers some of the best hair protection from harsh summer weather and chemicals that we've found on the market. These products contain coconut water which helps to naturally and gently remove unwanted residues such as sand and salt from your hair.
It’s nearly impossible to avoid getting into a refreshingly cool pool at some stage during your holiday. The sparkling pool beckons when you’re tired of soaking up that much needed vitamin D. But, unfortunately for all of you with beautifully coloured hair, chlorine is the worst nightmare for hair colour! Don't linger in the water with your hair immersed, and make sure that you rinse your hair after the pool to get rid of all those chemicals. Your new mantra is now RINSE - RINSE - RINSE, Girls. You’ll thank us later.
Sand, sea and saltwater
Sounds like a dream doesn’t it? But you guessed it - not for your hair!
This is a recipe for damaged, dry dehydrated hair. The solution we recommend is a leave-in conditioner to help protect against these components. Slather it on. Your hair will soak up all of those much-needed nutrients while you get to enjoy your beach day. Wash it out at the end of the day before your night out. We have an unlimited amount of leave in conditioner products to suit every hair type.
You protect your skin in the sun why not your hair?
Excessive amounts of sun can not only burn your scalp but can also bleach your hair. YES - that gorgeous colour you worked to perfect - could be ruined! We recommend using Aloe Vera to help soothe the pain of a sunburnt scalp, but if you do notice some funky colour issues, please pop into the salon where one of our team stylists will recommend products suited to you and your hair, and get you on the road to recovery.
If all else fails........
Wearing a sun hat will protect your hair from the sun! Buy one that rolls up into your suitcase, in a neutral raffia or woven straw which will go with all the cute bikinis. Not only does a hat always look chic, but it's the best possible sun protection - for your hair, your scalp, and your face! Freckles from the sun may be cute now, but wrinkles from the sun will NOT be cute later. Like the song says - You Can Leave Your Hat on - your skin will certainly thank you in later years!
If you follow these simple steps we can guarantee you’ll have happy healthy hair this summer!
